Traditional Pork Adobo Recipe is a popular Filipino stew made with pork cubes simmered in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic and onions.Traditional Pork Adobo Recipe.

Ingredients

3 pounds boneless pork shoulder
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup vinegar
3 large cloves garlic
1 tablespoon fish sauce
1/4 teaspoon peppercorn
1 bay leaf

Cut pork shoulder into 2 inch cubes and set into a large pot. Roughly dice garlic and add to pot then mix in soy sauce, vinegar, fish sauce, peppercorns and bay leaf. Set pot over medium high heat until liquid is bubbling. Once adobo is simmering, turn heat down to medium low and simmer for half an hour.

This step is optional but I love to add onions to my adobo. Once the adobo is finished cooking add about 2 sliced yellow onions to the pot, cover and let simmer for about 5 minutes or until onions are wilted and soft.  Scoop a hearty spoonful of adobo over rice with a side of vegetables. Enjoy!
